I have great love for any fic wherein Connor punches Guy. *g* Also? Connor calling Roy his brother. . .*very carefully doesn't consider how the last part of the story ended.*
The rest of this was heartwrenching. The part with Raven - especially the Tamaranean mourning rituals -just broke me into a million little sobbing pieces. Raven wanting to go to the service, and remembering the wedding . . .oh, OW.
As did Non-Ass Wally.
My favorite parts were these:
As the heroes who had chosen to come gathered around them, she began--it was swift, as befitted a warrior, and haunting, words of an almost-dead people said on earth for the first (only) time...
*Sniffle.* Stupid Dick. Stupid, stupid, selfish bastard Dick. If there truly is a ninth layer of hell, his spot there is secured.
--she had seen Kory perform them too many times for those who died in Trigon's mad pursuit of her--so she was the only choice...
*sniffle again.* Oh, Raven. It could be worse. You at least fought against Trigon's evil with all you could. That's more than I could say for certain other people. *glares at Dick, Roy, and Dinah.*
Leaders like Dick had always been. *whimpers.* That was evil, by the way.
