The rest of this was heartwrenching. The part with Raven - especially the Tamaranean mourning rituals -just broke me into a million little sobbing pieces. Raven wanting to go to the service, and remembering the wedding... oh, OW.

My favorite parts were these: "As the heroes who had chosen to come gathered around them, she began--it was swift, as befitted a warrior, and haunting, words of an almost-dead people said on earth for the first (only) time..."

Glad you liked that line, even if it hurt... it seemed right. And, you know, Dick's not the one that put the bullet in her skull and made it a closed-casket funeral...
