Part D

"Wouldn't want to embarrass him?" she whispered out of the side of her mouth, letting her tone and body language insinuate other activities.

See. ..on one hand, I suppose I should feel for Mia that her history lets her insinuate this so . . .easily, particulary at her age. But on the other? Watching the reactions are fun, so I don't feel too bad. *g*

Dick struggled to keep his expression light. Better than anyone, he knew his little brother was still... aching, and with what she was insinuating... tension settled into his shoulders and the corners of his mouth...

Kyle moved over to kiss his fiance lightly, wondering why Mia'd decided on this tactic and how badly it was going to blindside/backfire on Tim.

*giggles at Dick, hugs Kyle.* I love that Dick is fooled by the way. Not so much the World's Second Greatest Detective, Dick, honey. . . even if you do pick up on the deception later.

Roy watched his 'little sister', then looked at Tim more closely, trying to determine just what Mia was covering up for Tim, and poorly.
Oh, ROY. I love the rich history of Sneaky!Roy this conveys.

A grin broke over his own face as he remembered a hasty revelation that neither he nor Dick were carrying condoms, the first time they had decided to risk an encounter all the way.

*grins, amused.* I love that Dick's all "WE WILL TALK" and Roy's all, "That reminds me of the time. . ." It shows their personality differences well.

Mia moved her hand to take his under the table, and tapped out the code for Gar and Vic

*laughs hysterically.* Why, yes, Mia, that should certainly clear up the "what."

Roy only grinned more when he saw Dick look at him, eyes dancing in mischief. Dick shot another look at him, questioning and annoyed, as Tim's hand tightened on hers in shock, barely keeping it off his face, and 'Why?!' flashed back through their hands.

I feel the urge to point out the fact that they are playing an very elaborate game of footsie with their hands. . .ergo, proof that the denial of the Tim/Mia is futile.

And Tim! Keeping the denial off his face. *snicker.* Even when the shock is something that great, he's all Stoic Bat!Tim. *g*

Bruce shook his head unhappily, "And risk Alfred's wrath? I'd rather not

*g* I'm glad that Bruce is aware that Alfred will kick his ass.

Mia tapped back 'keeping Wing away',
*snickergiggleflail.* Yeah, I have nothing constructive to add to this. Just that I love the conspiratorial glee of fingerplay underneath the table between Speedy and Robin.

And Oh! The Chili. Discussion of the Chili never grows old.

Tim thanked his lucky stars that Bruce was on the side of him that hadn't been clocked. 'Course, that meant Dick wasn't, but Dick already had the 'we're talking' look on his face,

But, Timmy, Dick can be won over with large puppy eyes and pouts. . .Bruce, not so much.

I could quote the entire section of the Power Girl/Protective Uncles scenario, but pretty much all I would be saying is "I love this!" over and over. I enjoyed the look into the Uncles (I love that it is plural) thinking she was making a mistake . . .and sending Karen. Oh, good Lord.

This, however, was my favorite part of the whole exchange: "Karen, not Ted...." She did not add that the fight with Karen had been over an insult to Barbara, after the nigh-invulnerable woman accused Dinah of having let Oracle twist her brain so far she could not think straight.

*snicker.* Mostly, because I can see Dinah trying so hard to control her temper. . and Babs' slam being the straw that broke her reserve.
