I could quote the entirety of the Clark&Bruce convo, but sufficent to say, it was wonderfully handled.
Thank you so much. It was... interesting to write. Bruce is trying to deal with some of the damaged faith between them--but he's still Bruce and can therefore only go so far.
It truly conveyed a sense of history and friendship that those two should always have, regardless of whose bed they are sharing.
*relief/pleasure* So glad. Needed to be that way, so relieved it worked. They are old friends, old partners... and I'm informed Bruce has never made so much as a polite pass at Clark, mainly because he had no wish to deal with the fallout. Besides, the boy scout's not his type.
But you didn't sugar coat the tension that should, and would be there, given the stupidity that DC put them through.
Couldn't do that. Ollie and Dinah and Bruce hashed out their mess in the comics (in some oddly simple ways, given Bruce's usual habits, but I'm not complaining...), but he and Clark haven't, so... despite that this is HappyVerse, they had to have the tension.
It was all sorts of perfect. *happy squee.*
*joygleerelief* Thankyou!
The hint about Clark missing being Superman made me squee. YES. "A Good Year" my ass.
*nodnod* Yeah. You said it. BS, DC, B.S., he's been a hero waaay too long not to miss it. Like Jen's saying over in her journal, he loves to fly, and would miss that at least.
*g* I love Dinah. And that sentence is why I love Eddie.
I love Dinah, too. Not so much with the Eddie love, but Filly writes him great. He's a jerk and a cad, but the thought of someone close to Ollie having AIDS scared him half to death.
And ALAN SCOTT!!! *squee.* I'm kinda partial to him, anyway. But oh, his *love* of his neice here was lovely.
I'm discovering a real love for Alan, and Filly did an awesome job.
Awwww. And I love the detail of Lian shrinking away from Hal. Much as it probably hurt the man.
Yeah, awwww. And Lian's a smart little cookie. I pulled off JLA0 and Hal's "so I have a niece"-ish line to get that they don't know each other much, and with what Lian's been through... yeah. And I think it did hurt Hal--but you know, if it gets him to show up at Roy's more often I don't think Roy'll complain.
*kicks Hal for being an insensitive ass here.*
Hal is a jerk sometimes, but really, himself, Ollie, and now Kon?
