You know, I don't think the mere *summary* of a fic has ever made me cry before. But the weight behind this - the knowledge of why they needed to along with what they would find when they got there...
*hugs you tight, and provides tissues* I cried, too, just writing that line.
Oh, and it just brought home that feeling of The Titans being a family and the Tower being home... Yeah, it made me cry. For just a minute.
They are family. First and foremost.
No, Timmy, honey, you're not, but it's okay, because pretty soon, you're really, really going to need some comfort of your own. *hugs Timmy.*
Yeah... he really, really-really is. *cuddles Timmy tight*
And, again, I really like how Vic's portrayed here - we see him hit stronger in this scene than when Batman was there, and it's very appropriate I think. Vic is more at home with the Titans and though he still isn't going to completely break down (with anyone who isn't Gar), it's lovely to show once again that the Titans are a family , and therefore it makes perfect sense that he'd allow himself a tiny breakdown - leader or not - in front of Robin and Gar. Because, as members of that family, they not only know the loss/pain he's feeling, but they're also part of his foundation and background - they're allowed to a degree that no one else is.
*purrs at your complete and total understanding of her Vic*
Does that make sense? Because...it's such lovely characterization for the Titans as a whole, and Vic in particular.
It made perfect sense.
As was the fact that it only took one time calling Vic's code name to snap him back into leader mode.
*G* Yes. Although, dude, when Robin yells your codename at you, you just kinda snap-to.
Also? This is fab character bit too:
OH - Timmy.
I love nothing else more in fan fic than when bits reach up and sing the true character voice to me. You do this so often and well. And it's little things like Timmy concentrating on supplies and being Robin that grab me.
"OH - Timmy." Covers it nicely, yes, my poor hurting boy. *hugs him*
"sing the true character voice" *blushes to the roots of her HAIR* I... thank you. So much. That's... a hell of a compliment. And it made sense to Timmy and me, so we went with it.
"Damned right it's not over," Vic snapped, his rage at this coming out. And again, I love your Vic. I could pretty much write over 4000 words of love to your Vic, so take that, LJ BOX CONTENT LIMIT.
That... *happiness* Thank you so much. I'm glad you like my Vic. and yes, LJ's box content limit sucks so much.
You are . . .a vicious, *evil* woman for including that. So, so vicious. And you know full well why.*hugs Tim.*
*decides to hassle you in IM later about that* *nods and hugs Tim along with you*
And, thank you for giving Raven her complexity back. No, she's really not that Teenage Girl that her body is. Because.That.Doesn't.Make.Sense, DC.
Current Raven canon annoys me, and I worship Raven, so, voila. You're right, it doesn't, and I refuse to admit there's a way that it could.
She's a seasoned warrior, who has stood at battle against Trigon more than once - with Kory by her side.
Yes, she sure as hell is. And yea. Kory always was.
Yeah, my throat? Started to get a little tight here, again.
