This is just the perfect explanation of everything that would attract Roy and Dick to one another. I love how well you summed up all their issues in a nice little paragraph.
It was really, really nice to get to hear Dick admit to how crazy in love he is with Roy. It almost makes me think he might come close to deserving Roy's devotion.
Dick stealing the apple from Roy also jumped out at me. I loved how casually in love they are at that point.
Wasn't it glorious? I was so happy with them at that.
I adore this line. The casual way that Slade waits to exert his dominance of both boys caused much sqee in my poor overridden little brain. It's so perfectly stated.
Slade's an arrogant, ultimately Toppy son of a bitch, and Filly does an amazing job with him.
This is the Dick that I love, that I wanted to capture when I started this whole crazy go nuts series. Yes Yena I take responsibility. I wanted to bring this Dick back, the one who was confidant and cocky and loving, and almost impish. I miss him so much.
