*squee.* I've lost track of how many parts exist in this verse by now, or how many holidays we've gone through. All I know is that, through every since piece, I have loved to the very core of my soul, this verse. And every single time I see a new piece posted, I squee.
I lost track too. It just seems to…evolve on its own. And I bear much love for it despite helping it come into existence.

Aw. Ted. I love his voice, here. It's so. . . so good and kind and fun. The kind of man he was and exactly why he is so good for Babs.
I have truly come to believe he is the only man in DC that would make a very good partner for her in the long run, so DC can take the two Crises, fold them til they are all sharp corners, and stick them up the fifth point of contact.
Such a good detail, there. Both her surprise, and his using of the door. It shows a respect of her space and position that he does not use with her - or anyone - at all times. It's a delicious bit of characterization work there.
*g* You have a way of delighting me with which details you choose to pick out and comment on. That was a very conscious choice, to have him use the door, for pretty much that very reason.

*cries.* *beats all of DC with a Castration Stick of Doom.* *uses one of Ra's Pits.* *repeats process.*
*assists* I had to type the dialogue from Bruce and Ted in Countdown to Yena, as she could not find her copy easy…and oh god I wanted to bitch slap the bastard.

I get mightily pissed sometimes at the newer, kinder, gentler Bruce Wayne/Batman…because look what they had to do to the world he lives in to get him there.
:) And of course. A simple apology and a simple acknowledgment. Because they are heroes. Because of the men they are and want to be. Perfect. Yeah, awkward, but not . . .stupid about their awkwardness.

You do realize since I read that I'm trying to work out the dynamics, considering Tim's underage in Ted's turn in Birds. Because it must be written. Seriously.

We won't mention the funniness of him having to talk to Babs' mentor while smelling very much like their activities of the evening….
YAAAAH!!! *cheers for her.* I loved this, of course. I just love the bond - be it friendship, as in this verse, or more in other verses - between these two women. And it's so strong here. I really love how she reacted to, especially when contrasted to the way others in Dinah's life reacted - she has the same worries, but knows that getting Dinah upset at her won't do a thing.
And I wrote this before Simone decided to contradict herself and lay the lesbian vibe on thick as peanut butter on toast….*punches Simone in the kidneys for issues 99-101, especially 101*
And this loving, caring Babs? For both Dinah and Ted? THIS is a Babs I love and want to know. She's so Anti-BrattyBatBabs. And yet, still confident and competent. Gee, imagine that.

I think my Barbara is so different because my Babs is shaped by only two sources, really…with a dose of a third.
My Babs grew from the happy Batgirl of comics ages ago, Birds of Prey which made her work so good, with a dash of the old TV show plus Animated Babs. Smart, sexy, warm, lovingly concerned. Able to put it all to the side and do her job, but not lost in the Bat at all times. A woman who watched Bruce become the Bat too much and resolved not to do it herself…and thankful to Tim and Dinah and Dick and Ted for knocking her upside the head when she does.
