Hm. A little, I think, as I grieve for each of their lost innocences, even as I revel in the darkness of this 'verse.

But my initial 'oh, ROY' reaction was more. . . that even though he's completely turned his back on everything that the Hal/Dinah/Ollie era represents, that line still felt to me as though he was taking just a bit of delight in his task because of all that Hammond had put Hal through. Sure, it's an order from Slade. And sure, they have reason to do what they're doing that has nothing at all to do with Hal, but the line just felt to me, like a twinge of 'this one's for the man who taught me not to be afraid.'

Possibly I infer too much. But that's the way it struck me. And when combined with the complete loss of every other trait that defined Roy for so long, grabbed my throat. And squeezed.

Which is a very good thing, indeed.

*snuggles this dark little universe some more before running off to hide from it.*
