It took a moment before he could say it. "There's trouble. The house in Kitale... is gone (http://tm-wintergreen.livejournal.com/7506.html). I was--am--in New York. Wintergreen... hasn't contacted me, my hacker spotted the damage."
Another long moment, "Can you get free of the Titans?"
Rose hung up and packed some clothes, toiletries, her armor, and weapons into her bag. Once that was over with, she slung the bag onto her shoulders and departed the Tower, but not before recording a message for the others so they didn't worry about her.
Now all that mattered was getting a plane to New York.
When she touched down in New York, and contacted him, he would tell her which of the minor airports to make her way to.
When she arrived, he was (fairly obviously) using the plane's maintenance to distract himself. Her brother was there already... and so was a tall woman she would have seen in a couple of photographs, eyes the same color as her brothers, with long, brunette hair.
