DC AU fanfic: Uncle Sam
Aug. 21st, 2008 10:45 pmTitle: We Hold These Truths
Word Count: 404
Fandom: DC comics
Character: Uncle Sam
Notes: First in a series, but hopefully entirely acceptable as a stand-alone.
All you really need to know is who Uncle Sam is, though mild familiarity with his incarnations would help.

Dune ficlet
Jul. 10th, 2008 06:24 pmI don't know who might be interested, but I write Ghanima Atreides over on Theatrical_muse. And I really liked this week's prompt, so I'm going to cross-post it here.

Okay, so a couple of new friends wound up, in kind of a roundabout way, asking for why I slash, and how I see it actually working. So, *laughs* have a thoughts-on-yaoi post! We'll see if I need to warn for teal deer herds once I'm done. ((why yes, I do read fandom-wank while bored)).
( pretty boys, pretty women, and non-heteronormative sexuality )
Without getting into tons of specific examples, that's a lot of my two cents on this topic (1,145 words, good god, that's not two cents).
Comments, questions, discussion, anything?

Slade prompts 41-50
Apr. 27th, 2008 10:40 pmWell. It's been a few weeks since I've done this, but Slade has some more TM prompts he finally answered for me.
Two ficlets, three prefect drabbles... He's such an odd thing.
41 Who has had the most influence on your life?
( If I knew... )Words: 177
42 Does heartache make you stronger?
I'm still breathing, right?
43 If you won the equivalent of $2,000, and had to spend it, what would you spend it on?
What was I doing, playing pool in a local bar? A $2K offer isn't even worth my time.
Ammunition, probably. Unless I see something I'd rather have.
44 What happened the first time you got drunk?
( no-one say a word about being underage... )Words:187
45 What makes you feel vulnerable and what makes you feel invulnerable, and why?
*snort*
46 What would you place in a personal ad if you were making one?
I wouldn't, thank you. I have very little need of them, at least in that sense. Now, as far as the prevalence of several people in my business using them to arrange contracts... Well. It would be just a little stupid of me to admit to that in a public forum, wouldn't it?
47 What is the biggest lie you ever told? What were the consequences?
This is about enough times for this question to come up in one way or another. (Re: 15, 26, 27.)
48 Describe the best 24 hours you ever had.
( best day of my life... )Words:100
49 Who would you like to see get their final comeuppance? Who is it and just what would you do with them?
( Best served cold )Word:100
50 What do you have to be thankful for?
( ...it's been a long time since I've counted my blessings... )Words:100

Title: Companions of Necessity
Co-Writer:
merfilly
Fandom: AvP (Alien vs. Predator)
Disclaimer: I don't own anything, here. I have no idea who all own the Alien, Predator, and AvP franchises, but I know James Cameron, the Simon Brothers, Dark Horse Comics, and two publishing companies are involved. None of these are me, or my cowriter. We're just playing with the characters.
Word Count: 5,303
Pairing: Scar/Lexa if you squint a lot
Feedback: In this particular case is complete and utter love, because I can't locate a fandom for it on lj (barring the few people who piped up in my meta post, thanks y'all!) So please, if you read, let us know? There's probably more to this story, but...
Rating: Mm... no worse than the movie, so PG-13.
Summary: Change one little event, and the entire story changes. Keep a character alive, and an entirely different world is born. (Aka, Scar lives, what happens next?)
Note: Picks up about 5 minutes before the end of the movie, and completely invalidates one scene therein.
