Choosing Unwisely

This takes off immediately after the last scene with Deathstroke in Inheritance by Devin Greyson. Yes, that does mean it's going to diverge from the final few pages of the book. Don't ask me where my bunnies hop out of, it's probably a circle of hell.

Loved how you wrote Roy more though. The surprise, the hurt, the anger. The idea of loosing himself in his former drug habit and then having the will to force the urge away.
I also liked how he could't truly be mad at Dick and how he felt guilty about causing Dick to slip into a state of shock.
I really liked being inside Dick's head for that brief period of time and the way Ollie snapped him out of it was truly Ollie.
Great job.

Date: 2006-06-11 02:42 pm (UTC)The other thing that really struck me was your amazingly good detail of the costumes. You manage to make them come to life in a way that seems realistic and yet stays true to the actual design in the comics, which is intensely difficult to pull off. I felt like I was there for the undoing of every strap and buckle in the complex outfits the heroes were in, though. It was simply stunning from start to finish.

Dick's issues should not be *that* hot. Boy, is that wrong. Nicely done.

Date: 2006-07-04 01:03 am (UTC)Poor Roy. I really liked the voice you gave him though.
Poor Dick, even though he needed beaten. He . . . oh, he's just messed up- with the Roy AND Batman issues that kept repeating themselves over and over in the poor little boy's head. *hugs him tightly before slapping him.*

The dynamic between the two was really fascinating...it feels so wrong at first but the older/younger vibe works really well here.
I agree with the comment above about the costumes! Your love for them really comes through in all the loving details.
